What’s your role at Staff Domain?

I am the Head of Human Resources for Philippines and South Africa.

How did you end up in this position?

After the pandemic, I really wanted a corporate opportunity with a great team. I made it through the (gruelling) interview process and here I am!

What do you enjoy most about working here?

I’d say the culture. People here truly do share the same workplace values and behaviour.

What are some of the biggest challenges you face?

When I joined the company, post covid, employee health and well being were at a low – much like other large companies in the world. That was a hurdle but we’ve certainly tackled it and are in a great place.

What’s something interesting or surprising about yourself that people might not know?

That I used to sing in a hotel lounge (Sssshhh). I also jumped out of a plane twice (for sky diving).

How would you describe the company culture, and what values do you think are most important to your team?

It’s great. As I have mentioned, employees share the same values in the workplace. There is a sense of accountability among teams. We also have a good management team and the impact of that trickles through the whole organisation..

What’s your favourite project / client you’ve worked on so far, and why?

I am internal staff, which means I’m not dedicated to a client. I work in the Staff Domain business. So I work closely with the CFO and the CEO which is really inspiring. My favourite project so far would have to be the Marketing Campaign shoot. I am excited to see how impactful it would be globally – and no doubt you (the reader) will be seeing it reflected on our website in the second half of 2023.

How do you stay motivated and productive throughout the workday?

I just take one day at a time, prepare my daily deliverables and enjoy my time at work.

What’s something you’re looking forward to in the future for the company or your team?

I am looking forward to seeing more great people join the organisation. I’m excited to be part of our first 1000 and look forward to reaching 5000 net gain.

What do you like to do outside of work, and how do you balance your personal and professional life?

At the moment I do MMA as a sport. I also swim. I love my kitchen so I always find time to cook for my family (and my neighbors too).

What advice would you give to someone about to start their offshore outsourcing journey?

That offshoring gives businesses access to a wider pool of talents and is more cost efficient. That the Philippines and South Africa have a great population of professional and talented individuals. That indeed, Staff Domain is the smart place to grow.
