The Staff Domain team in Johannesburg, South Africa, in celebration of the future. This event launched the 2024 employee engagement program, a series of monthly events designed to provide a break in the daily grind, encourage comradery and amplify the fun.
The 80s were fuelled by big dreams, optimism, and enthusiasm for the future. It was a time of having fun, embracing individuality, laughter, and creativity. At Staff Domain we resonate with this, hence it served as the perfect theme for our first event of the year – cue the legwarmers, vibrant hues and sequins.
We transformed our office into a blingy-drenched dance floor, with colleagues donning big hair, colourful headbands, mullets, oversized sunglasses, and neon leggings – a true homage to the era. The creativity of everyone’s outfits set the stage for the highly anticipated “best dressed employee” showdown, with winners scoring 80s themed hampers.
The excitement didn’t stop there. Before the competition heated up with a freeze dance challenge, employees indulged in gourmet hotdogs and salads, gearing up for a night of retro rivalry on the dancefloor. Needless to say, there was lots of moonwalking!
The disco lights lit up the room, while everyone grooved to classics from the 80s – all the chart-topping hits from Madonna, Prince and Michael Jackson to name a few. The energy was electric and exactly the atmosphere Staff Domain envisioned. The disco party wasn’t just an event; it was a testament to our dedication to spreading joy and connections among our fantastic team.
